Our Story | ārdrā

Where It Began

ārdrā was born from a simple desire — to create clothing that feels like a gentle embrace, made with respect for both the wearer and the maker.

The name 'ārdrā' comes from Sanskrit, meaning soft, moist, or tender. It reflects our commitment to creating pieces that are gentle on your skin and kind to the earth.

For Women Who Embrace Change

We design for women who are navigating life's transitions with grace — women over 30 who seek comfort without compromising on style.

Our pieces are thoughtfully designed with relaxed silhouettes that move with you, breathable fabrics that feel like a second skin, and timeless designs that transcend seasons.

Our Journey

2020

The Seed

The idea of ārdrā took root during the quiet months of lockdown, when we reconnected with the joy of handmade things.

2021

First Collection

We launched our first collection with just 5 pieces, each made by artisans in Pune using traditional techniques.

2022

Growing Roots

We expanded our artisan network and introduced natural dyes — indigo, madder, turmeric — to our palette.

2024

Today

ārdrā continues to grow, one mindfully made piece at a time, staying true to our values of sustainability and comfort.
