Handloom Weaving

The Art of Handloom

Each piece begins on a handloom, where skilled artisans weave fabric with the same techniques their families have used for generations.

Handloom weaving is a slow process — a single meter of fabric can take hours to create. But this patience results in textiles with a character and quality that machines cannot replicate.

Natural Dyeing

Colors from Nature

We dye our fabrics using natural sources — indigo from plants, madder from roots, turmeric and pomegranate from the kitchen.

Natural dyes are gentler on the skin and the environment. They may fade slightly with time, but this only adds to the unique beauty of each piece.

Our Commitments

Fair Wages

We work directly with artisans and pay fair wages that reflect the skill and time invested in each piece.

Slow Fashion

We make to order, reducing waste and ensuring each piece is made with intention.

Natural Materials

Only natural fibers and dyes touch our fabrics — no synthetic chemicals or plastics.

Minimal Packaging

We ship in recycled and recyclable packaging, keeping our footprint as light as possible.

Before You Decide

We want you to love your ārdrā piece for years to come. Here's what to know:

Natural Variation

Handloom fabrics have slight irregularities — these are signs of authentic handcraft, not defects.

Color Evolution

Natural dyes may soften over time. This gentle fading is part of the fabric's journey with you.

Initial Bleeding

Natural dyes may release some color in the first few washes. Wash separately in cold water.

Made to Order

Each piece is crafted after you order, taking 10-15 days. Good things take time.
